Harborough Energy is a cooperative set up to provide affordable, clean energy to communities in and around Market Harborough. Their local energy projects offer community investment opportunities as well as reduced energy costs for land and property owners who host their installations.

This project completed in December 2018 was with NBJ (London) Ltd, who specialise in the manufacture of high quality, bespoke joinery and cabinetry, at their manufacturing site near Husbands Bosworth. Harborough Solar One along with cooperative of investors own the solar PV array and have a 20 year licence with NBJ that they provide NBJ with electricity at reduced cost through a Power Purchase Agreement.

The Goal: NBJ pursue a vigorous Environmental policy and are striving towards continued improvement. They were keen to reduce their operating costs and Carbon Footprint through the implementation of renewable energy.

The solution: To help achieve these goals we installed a ground mounted solar PV system on the site. With an estimated annual generation of over 95,000kWh pa and CO2 reduction of over 51 tonnes pa.

The equipment: included 360 Hanwha QCells 285Wp solar panels and Solis inverters on a Sunfixings ground mount.

The challenge: In order to get the best Feed in Tariff rate for the customer we needed to complete the installation before the end quarter 4, which resulted in us installing a ground mounted system in poor weather conditions.
