Transforming Social Housing: Plug Me In Earns CHIC Healthy Homes Approval
Plug Me In is thrilled to announce our inclusion in CHIC’s Healthy Homes Framework. Appointment to this framework opens new doors for us to collaborate with Registered Social Landlords and public sector bodies, accelerating the adoption of air source heat pumps and advancing the nation’s smart energy initiatives.
CHIC, a not-for-profit consortium owned and governed by its members, offers procurement solutions and commercial support to its affiliated affordable housing landlords and public sector entities. Through its frameworks, CHIC provides its members with access to a curated list of over 1000 accredited suppliers, offering a compliant procurement route for a wide range of services.
CHIC’s mission is to enhance social housing and communities by promoting savings, sustainability, innovative technology, and added social value. This vision aligns seamlessly with Plug Me In’s commitment to creating a smarter, more sustainable energy future through our heat pump installations and EV charger services.
After a thorough and competitive tender process, we are proud to be one of the 61 service providers selected for the Healthy Homes Framework. This rigorous assessment required us to demonstrate our accreditations, operational procedures, communication strategies, and environmental and quality management systems, amongst other criteria including our equal opportunity and diversity policies - an important part of our Diversity and Inclusion goals and our aim to create a workplace that celebrates differences, fosters innovation and ensure that every voice is heard and valued.
The Healthy Homes Framework offers landlords a diverse range of solutions to enhance residential properties and improve tenants’ lives. This includes retrofitting energy-efficient solutions such as ventilation systems, damp and mould treatments, house refurbishments, as well as renewable energy and heating systems.
Sam Peachman, Commercial Director of Plug Me In, commented, “Social housing providers are under immense pressure to improve the EPC ratings of their properties. Heat pumps are a key measure to achieve this, helping to alleviate fuel poverty and enhance living conditions for low-income households. Inclusion in the CHIC Framework, which spans four years, allows us to work closely with social housing providers to provide low carbon, low emission, and cost-efficient homes across the country.”
